Bummertown bridges

About four or five blocks away, and two doors down from where i used to live, a 19-year-old woman was murdered Tuesday night. She was stabbed in the neck. her name was sara and friends described her as a sweetheart, not an enemy in the world.

road past the memorial at midnight, just as they were blowing out the candles.

when i lived in the neighborhood somebody left a dead cat on the hood of my car. It's across the street from a welfare office, and the pregnant teens smoking at the edge of the property would glare at me in the morning on my way to work. Fourth of july sounded like a war zone.

rode the bridges, a short route, just because it was dry. tooled around downtown. for the first time this year i felt overdressed.

There is a killer on the loose.
